Lower Body Class with Squat Focus
Program by Anita Naegeli
Length: 45 Minutes
Props Used: 2 Yoga Blocks, Hand Towel
The focus of this class is on the lower body. More specifically, the squat is used as an example of how you can improve a movement pattern by assessing the individual joints and then targeting the joints that are not functioning optimally. The squat is a multi-joint movement. If any of the joints involved are restricted, it will affect one’s ability to squat well.
The class starts with a squat assessment, followed by stretching procedures that target the joints in isolation to improve the range of motion and create strength and control. The goal is to help you determine which joints need more range of motion and where you need to build more strength and control.
