Open Level - Pace: Slow
Many women find out what a DIASTASIS is only after they deliver. Not too many OBGYN’s talk about it and honestly not too many women want to share their frustration about it, and they keep silent. The diastasis is the separation (gap) between the two parts of the rectus abdomini. (the 6 packs) Normally, the two sides of the muscle are joined at the linea alba at the body midline but when the belly grows and expands to make room for the growing baby, the abdominal walls separate.
In many cases the walls get back together after the delivery but sometimes that doesn't happen right away and it creates consequences for years to come: abdominal hernias and weaknesses, incontinence, back pain...
For the healing of the diastasis, it is very important to know what helps closing the gap and what makes it worse! This video will provide the most important fundamentals.
